The most important collection of early scientific instruments in the world, in the world's oldest Museum building. Important objects in the collection include Queen Elizabeth I's astrolabe, King George III's silver microscope, equipment used in the discovery of penicillin and Einstein's own blackboard.

A programme of temporary exhibitions, family friendly activities, special events, public lectures, demonstrations and tours runs throughout the year.
