The Museum of English Rural Life houses the most comprehensive national collection of objects, books and archives relating to the history of food, farming and the countryside.
The Museum runs a full and varied programme of events and exhibitions for for families, local groups, special interest groups, schools and academics.
Located near the centre of Reading and opposite the Royal Berkshire Hospital, the Museum provides a quiet haven for visitors, and together with the beautiful garden at the rear is one of the town's best kept secrets.
