Hastings castle

30 Sep 2009
One of the oldest Norman castles in England possibly built on the site of a previous wooden structure. What Hastings castle ruins lacks in walls, it gains in atmosphere. Don't forget to visit the creepy dungeon. Hastings castle is also the focus of the May day celebrations at the Jack in the green festival, where the Jack is symbolically slain to release the spirit of Spring. If you can get up in the middle of the night don't miss the dawn celebrations on May day next door in Ladies parlour.
