The Normans defeated the English at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
At the battle site step back in time and explore the awe-inspiring ruins of the great abbey that William the Conqueror built.
Take an audio tour that re-creates the sounds of the battle as you stand where the Saxons watched the advancing Normans.
Our new visitor centre with state-of-the-art interpretation includes auditorium and interactive displays.
Visit the abbey museum; take a break at our new café with views of the historic battlefield. At the re-enactment on 11/12 October 2008 we welcome invaders, so bring the whole army!
From 21st March 2009 until 30th September 2009 we are open from 10:00 - 18:00.
From 1st October 2009 until 31st March 2010 we are open froom 10:00 - 16:00.
We are Closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
